Built for work. Since 1938.

Spijkstaal develops and builds utility vehicles in the Netherlands. Its range spans compact electric tow tractors for warehouses and industry, and electric utility vehicles for facilities and urban logistics.

1938–2020

  1. Founded in Spijkenisse

    Gerrit Neuteboom starts building steel agricultural wagons. Spijkenisse and steel inspire the Spijkstaal name.

  2. Electric deliveries

    Electric vehicles find their way into doorstep retail deliveries and internal transport in industry.

  3. A new steering system

    Electric vehicles gain a driven front assembly with automotive-style steering.

  4. The iconic mobile shop

    The new Hoogeveen factory begins building SRV mobile shops, including their bodywork.

  5. Fire engines built to order

    Custom fire-engine production begins in Hoogeveen.

  6. Logistics takes a new shape

    Platform trucks and tow tractors receive new designs and technical improvements, including models for flower auctions.

  7. Electric trials on the road

    Trials with twelve electric Volkswagen Caravelles begin for the Dutch Ministry of Transport.

  8. New partnerships

    Projects include electric refuse trucks for Van Gansewinkel and driverless park shuttles for Capelle aan den IJssel.

  9. Joining the group

    Spijkstaal International joins the Peinemann Mobilift Group and expands into electric-vehicle rental.

  10. The AGV tow tractor

    Work with AGVR produces an automatically guided tractor based on a Spijkstaal electric tow tractor.

  11. Introducing the 302

    The Spijkstaal 302 moves carts, containers and trailers up to 2,000 kg in hospitals, airports and railway stations.
