Working height
What working height do you need?
Suppliers usually calculate working height as platform height plus 2 metres. Based on experience, Womy prefers to allow 1.5 metres of practical reach above the platform. This calculator therefore always adds 0.5 metres and, depending on the task, a little more.
Working over something, such as a roof edge, balcony or pipework? Check horizontal outreach too. At maximum outreach an articulating or telescopic boom does not reach its maximum working height; each model’s working diagram shows what is possible.

Which aerial platform suits your business?
When buying, look beyond a single job: which working heights recur most, do you work indoors or outdoors and how will the machine be transported? A short guide per type.
Electric scissor lift
Goes straight up with a spacious platform. Electric, quiet and emission free, ideal for indoor work in halls, warehouses and shops on level floors.
Rough terrain scissor lift
A scissor lift with off-road tyres, often diesel powered with a large platform. Built for outdoor work on construction sites and unpaved ground, including several people and materials.
Articulating boom lift
The boom has one or more joints so you can work up and over obstacles such as balconies, roofs or pipework. Electric for indoors or rough terrain for outdoors.
Telescopic boom lift
A straight, extending boom with the greatest outreach. For work at great height and distance such as facades, steel structures, tanks and ports. Also available on tracks.
Spider lift
Light and compact on tracks with folding outriggers. Fits through a doorway, climbs stairs, protects delicate floors and still reaches great heights. Includes trailer-mounted platforms.
Vertical mast lift
A narrow vertical mast for one person. Small, light and manoeuvrable for indoor installation and maintenance where scaffolding or ladders are impractical.
Van-mounted platform
An aerial platform on a van that can be driven on a standard car licence (category B). Quick from job to job, ideal for short assignments at several locations.
Truck-mounted platform
For the greatest heights, supplied with an experienced operator. For high rise, industry and events where maximum height and outreach are needed.

Should I buy new or used?
A used platform is available sooner and costs less to buy. New gives the latest technology and the longest service life. Also view the current Womy stock.
What should I check on a used platform?
Check operating hours, year of manufacture, maintenance history, inspection reports and the condition of batteries, tyres and hydraulics.
Does an aerial platform need inspections?
An aerial platform must be inspected and maintained periodically under the applicable rules and the manufacturer’s instructions. Ask for the inspection status when buying.
Can I sell my current platform?
